Artifacts

Reflect
The artifacts, Electronic Resource Directory and 1-Year Action Plan, are examples of Standard 10. In the Electronic Resource Directory, I created a list of community resources that I can refer to parents to shows that I recognize the positive impact community agencies can have on family well-being. As a teacher and a professional, parents may seek my insight into issues that the family may be going through. This artifact shows that I am aware many different services within the community that can be utilized in a time of need. The 1-Year Action Plan, created with a group, is a school-wide plan of action to involve students, parents, volunteers, and members of the community in achieving a single goal. It shows that i recognize the part that parents and the larger community play in a child's life both academically and non-academically. It shows that I am able to utilize those influences in a positive way. Both artifacts foster a strong relationship between the school and parents or the greater community to achieve common goal: so that children can succeed.

Project
The two artifacts, Electronic Resource Directory and 1-Year Action Plan, demonstrate who I am as a learner by exemplifying how thorough was in building each. I show an in-depth understanding of how each and all parts of the community affects one single person. As a teacher, I will be able to use this resource guide as a base to build upon as I expand my community contacts. I will be able to take aspects from the 1-Year Action Plan to plan and integrate parent involvement, volunteers, and community resources in my classroom to encourage the success of my students.
